Methylation of guanosine II (12/28/1976)
Purpose/Intro: To determine appropriate conditions to methylate the adduct without destroying it.
Results/Conclusion: "The guanosine probably is degrading under these conditions! The DMS probably is destroying the ribose—leading to production of colored products. Since the AFB1-Gua adduct has a ribose-like group, these conditions probably would not be satisfactory for its methylation."
